What are the differences between firewalls such as from CISCO and X-PHY® AI Embedded Cyber Secure SSD?

Modified on Thu, 27 Jun at 10:56 AM

A Firewall, such as Cisco's, is a network security device that monitors and filters incoming and outgoing network traffic based on an organization’s established security policies. Its main purpose is to allow non-threatening traffic in and to keep dangerous traffic out. On the other hand, X-PHY® AI Embedded Cyber Secure SSD is a standalone AI-embedded cyber secure SSD that provides real-time data protection against all types of software-based malware, ransomware, and viruses, both known and unknown, including hardware and physical attacks. X-PHY® AI Embedded Cyber Secure SSD operates at the firmware level, providing an additional layer of security to prevent unauthorized access to data on the SSD. In summary, a firewall protects network traffic, while X-PHY® AI Embedded Cyber Secure SSD protects the data stored on the SSD itself.
