Can you provide an example of application-level mitigation and how it works?

Application-level mitigation involves securing and optimizing network traffic and data flows at higher layers of the OSI model. This includes actions like implementing antivirus software, applying software patches, enhancing security measures for data transfer, and monitoring for any suspicious activity at the application layer.

Example: In the instance of a data center that hosts web applications. Application-level mitigation may involve scanning incoming HTTP requests for malicious code or patterns, blocking known attack vectors, and isolating affected web applications. This proactive approach helps protect against threats targeting specific applications.
